Wow what a fabulous first week we have all had at our ‘Mini Explorers’ group at Orchard Forest School, with children learning how to manage risks around the fire pit and enjoy the space to explore and discover to follow their own curiosities.
We’ve been making wild flower seed bombs to take home for our own gardens and the children have noticed that we now have elves and pixies in the enchanted garden, from the magic potions they sprinkled there the other week!
We have been enjoying making Fairy and Wizard wands in the sunshine and Bertie is still up to his old tricks and continues to hide from Betty, so the children have been having fun exploring the 4 acres we have, trying to find both Bertie and Betty (Giant snails) so they can be reunited!
Some of the children have tried toasting marshmallows over the fire, however this was more of a ‘glimpse’ at the fire because the children were so eager to eat them!!!!
We’ve sang songs, eaten strawberries, blueberries and raspberries around the fire and some of us even drank out of a ‘big boys cup’ for the first time!!!
We’ve had the most wonderful week ever, enjoying watching the children (and adults) explore and enjoy the magical space we have at Orchard Forest School!
Cassie, Andrea and I (Lou) can’t wait to see all our ‘Mini Explorers’ next week for more sessions full of discovery and fun!
